It is a condition of the angling licence, that the licence holder comply with the Inland Fisheries Act 1995 and subsequent regulations and orders. This legislation can be viewed in full on-line at www.thelaw.tas.gov.au . A summary of this legislation, as it applies to seasonal regulations, is provided in the Tasmanian Inland Fishing Code. You can download the Fishing Code or pick up a copy from most major fishing tackle stores and Service Tasmania shops.

If you held a full season licence in 2013-14 and have not received a renewal form by the end of July 2014, please contact the Service so that licence holder details can be updated. Licence Renewal forms are mailed to all full season licence holders from the previous season at the start of July for the new licence period, which begins on 1 August each year. The Renewal form contains a paper licence card individually printed with the licence holder's details and the Payment number for processing. A range of convenient payment options is provided on the form, including paying over the internet or phone, or in person at tackle stores and Service Tasmania shops.
A Full Season licence runs for 12 months from 1st August to 31 July each year. Seniors and Pensioners must provide Senior and Pensioner Card Numbers to obtain the discount. A second rod licence may be purchased at the time of buying a standard licence or separately at a later date.
