Inland Fisheries Service & Landcare Tasmania - River Leven Signage Project
The Inland Fisheries Service (IFS) and Landcare Tasmania have teamed up to deliver a joint signage project on the River Leven. The new signs have been installed across the length of the River Leven Anglers Access area, from the lower reaches at Lobster Creek Road through to the upper reaches at Loongana.
The signs contain information about local natural values including protected species, along with Landcare catchment restoration activities and information about how people can get involved.
Healthy waterways are essential to ensure a quality trout fishery and the IFS is delighted to be partnered with Landcare Tasmania to improve river health. Landcare programs contribute to improved river health through willow removal, weed control, native vegetation planting and stream bank rehabilitation statewide.
