Gone Fishing Day 2026!

Gone Fishing Day is being held on Sunday 18 October 2026.

Gone Fishing Day is all about celebrating the joys of fishing and the numerous benefits it brings. Being a ‘licence free’ day it provides an opportunity for those who do not fish regularly to be introduced to the Tasmanian trout fishery.

To celebrate Gone Fishing Day 2026 there are several exciting events happening around Tasmania on Sunday 18 October.

Located between number two and number three weirs at Brumby Creek, Cressy, the 2026 Tasmanian Trout Expo once again will bring together anglers, families and outdoor enthusiasts for a lively day of fishing and enjoying the Brumbys Creek area.  The event features:

  • Free sausage sizzle
  • Kid’s giveaways and free entry for all attendees
