New Gate Installed at Clarence Lagoon
In response to illegal off-track four-wheel-driving activity, a new gate has been installed by Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service (PWS) at the end of the four-wheel-driving track leading into Clarence Lagoon. Beyond the new gate, the track is classified as a walking track.
Significant environmental harm has occurred to these previously rehabilitated areas, caused mainly by off-track four-wheel-drive activity.
Clarence Lagoon is known among anglers as a challenging but rewarding brook trout fishery located within the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area.
While enjoying the fishery at Clarence Lagoon, we ask all anglers to comply with rules and regulations that ensure the protection of this unique area of Tasmanian wilderness.
