Angler access track maintenance
Over the past week the Inland Fisheries Service has completed annual maintenance on the access tracks to the Meander River at Warners Road, along with Camden Lake and Four Springs Lake .
The Meander tracks provide foot access to the challenging and picturesque part of the river downstream of Meander Dam. This part of the river sustains good flows of highly oxygenated, cold water providing ideal habitat for chunky trout. Best fishing is from December onwards when the river level is ideal for the fly fisher and lure caster. Be aware, the tracks are steep and the river is difficult to wade with strong flows and slippery rocks. The scenery and solitude are exceptional in this section of the river, which is part of the TWWHA.
Camden Lake and Four Springs Lake are currently full and are primed for great fishing throughout the summer months.
