Freshwater Angling Forums

The Inland Fisheries Service (IFS) is hosting freshwater angling forums in Hobart, Launceston and Devonport in September 2025.
The forums are an opportunity to have a chat about trout fishing in Tasmania, hear about the work being undertaken by the IFS and have your questions answered. We will attempt to record the forums and make the recordings available on the IFS website for anyone who can’t attend in person.
Following each forum, attendees will have a chance to meet and chat with the IFS staff.
Representatives from Anglers Alliance Tasmania will also be in attendance.
Light refreshments and food will be provided.
Forum locations, dates and times:
- Hobart – Wednesday 3 September (6:00 pm to 8:30 pm)
Rydges Hobart, 393 Argyle Street, North Hobart - Launceston – Wednesday 10 September (6:00 pm to 8:30 pm)
Tailrace Centre, 1 Waterfront Drive, Riverside - Devonport – Wednesday 17 September (6:00 pm to 8:30 pm)
paranaple Convention Centre, 137 Rooke Street, Devonport
There is no cost to attend the forums, however, to ensure we do not exceed the capacity limits of each venue, we please ask you to book your free ticket using the following links:

The IFS would like to thank those who recently completed our forum survey. The forum presentation will be tailored to cover the main topics you most wanted to hear about.
We are also planning on holding a forum in Miena sometime early in 2026. We will provide details for that event at a later date.
