One of 170 natives planted

The Tyenna River Willow Warriors were joined by residents of Westerway in the latest planting day on Saturday 26 September. Twenty-two volunteers planted over 170 selected natives where willows had been removed in the township of Westerway and on the Westerway Raspberry Farm. Upcoming Willow Warrior events on the Tyenna include willow control working bees in the Spring and Summer and planting days next Autumn. If you are interested in getting involved contact:

The Tyenna River Recovery Program aims to eradicate crack willow from the Tyenna River and stabilise banks with native plantings over the next 10 years. This will be achieved by working with landholders, anglers and other river users and Willow Warriors volunteers and is outlined in the Tyenna River Recovery Plan that can be found here.
