Trout Weekend Photo Competition!
Get the beanie, hit the water, snap a photo and submit to win!
Licenced freshwater anglers attending Trout Weekend 2026 can take part in a new photo competition with more than $4,000 in prizes on offer.
The Trout Weekend 2026 Photo Competition opens at 10 am on Saturday 10 October 2026 and gives anglers the chance to share their trout fishing experiences from across Tasmania during October and November.
To enter, anglers must attend Trout Weekend at Liawenee on 10 or 11 October, register for the competition and collect an exclusive Trout Weekend 2026 beanie.
The first 500 eligible participants who collect a beanie will be able to compete for the major prizes.
Entrants can then head trout fishing anywhere in Tasmania during October and November and take a trout fishing-related photograph featuring the Trout Weekend beanie.
Photos can capture anglers fishing, trout captures and releases, scenic trout waters, or family and friends enjoying a day on the water. A trout does not need to appear in the photograph.
Major prizes include:
- first place: $1,000
- second place: $750
- third place: $500
- fourth place: $250
- fifth place: $125
- Director’s Choice Award: $500
There are also up to 10 supplementary prizes and honourable mentions worth $100 each.
Participants can submit up to five unique photographs, with entries closing at 11:59 pm on Monday 30 November 2026.
Entrants must hold a current Tasmanian Inland Angling Licence for the 2026–27 season.
Full competition details, eligibility requirements and terms and conditions are available on the Inland Fisheries Service website. Trout Weekend 2026 Photo Competition
