Over the years, Marine and Safety Tasmania (MAST) has received feedback from boaters that the ‘step up’ onto the pontoon at the Swan Bay boat ramp (Yingina / Great Lake) was difficult and potentially unsafe.

In response, MAST has designed and recently installed a prototype transition ramp at Swan Bay.

To help determine whether this design improves the usability and safety of the pontoon, MAST encourages users to provide feedback via:

If the feedback on this prototype is positive, MAST will consider installing similar transition ramps at other suitable locations on Yingina / Great Lake and similar installations may also be considered at other inland water locations.
