Lake Binney Access Improvements
Based on feedback received at the Freshwater Angling Forums last year, the Inland Fisheries Service (IFS) approached Hydro Tasmania about the access road into the Lake Binney boat ramp.
As a result, Hydro Tasmania has recently engaged Stornoway to improve the road by resurfacing and widening it, along with clearing roadside vegetation.
These improvements now allow for vehicles to safely pass each other, without the need for one of the passing vehicles to stop and reverse out of the way!
On behalf of anglers, the IFS would like to thank Hydro Tasmania and Stornoway for these improvements.
Also a reminder that Lake Binney, along with the rest of the Brady's Chain of Lakes are open all year to fishing. Being at a lower elevation than Yingina/Great Lake, these waters provide a great option for winter trout fishing and there are still opportunities to catch a $5,000 tagged trout as part of the 2025-26 Tagged Trout Promotion!
