A new Inland Fisheries Advisory Council appointed

On the 15 December 2015 a new Inland Fisheries Advisory Council was appointed to oversee and shape the future strategic direction of the Inland Fisheries Service.

The new Chairperson is Michele Moseley who recently retired as Deputy Secretary from the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment.

New appointees were:
• Frank Neasey Assistant Solicitor General;
• Simone Hackett co-owner and manager of RiverFly 1864
• Alex Schaap retired Director Environmental Protection Authority;
• Liza Fallon Planning Adviser Tasmanian Planning Commission

Re-appointees were:
• Gary France TGALT and Anglers Alliance
• Shaun Finlayson commercial eel fisher
• Christine Mucha retired CEO of Hobart Water and Director.
• John Diggle Director of Inland Fisheries continues as a statutory appointment.

The Council held their first meeting on the 23 February 2016.
