A reminder to anglers that the annual closure of Canal Bay at Yingina / Great Lake commenced over the weekend. The annual closure is to protect both brown and rainbow trout as they congregate in the bay prior to entering Liawenee Canal to spawn. 

Canal Bay will re-open to fishing on Saturday 28 November 2026 after the conclusion of this year's rainbow trout spawning run.
