Plenty of trout and prizes at the Cressy Trout Expo this sunday.

The Cressy Trout Expo is on this Sunday 8th October at Brumbys Creek, Cressy.

This free event is a family friendly fishing competition with a free sausage sizzle and give aways for kids.

Last year we had over 150 trout caught with 10 tagged trout being presented to our tent. The tagged trout were worth $50 for those people lucky enough to catch one. This year we will be tagging 20 trout with prize money of $50 per tagged trout.

Our event is at Brumbys Creek which is 3km south of Cressy on the Poatina Road.  Our event runs from 8am until 2 pm.

So bring your rods, deck chairs and a picnic and have a great day by the river.

Sunday is national ‘Gone Fishing’ day which is promoting ‘take a kid fishing somewhere in Australia’. So if you can’t get to Cressy, then take your children to a spot near you and have a great day out.

We are often asked about fishing methods at the event. Inland fishing regulations should apply with strictly no wading and no boating. Worms, power bait, soft plastics and hard body lures all seem to work well at Brumbys. Rods and bait are not supplied or available at the event. Please bring your own.

If you can’t get to Brumbys on Sunday morning come out in the afternoon as there will still be plenty of fish to catch even after our event is finished.

See you there - Cressy Trout Expo Committee
