The 2017 whitebait fishing season is now closed. After a wet opening to the season on 1 October making it difficult for fishers the weather slowly improved with good runs and catches being seen up until the closure on 11 November. The increased whitebait activity has also seen an increase in trout activity in our estuaries with plenty of anglers getting out and about.
