Background

The Plenty River enters the Derwent River at Plenty. The river is best accessed by the B62 from New Norfolk or the C610 which turns southwest off the B62, the latter takes you to the mid and upper reaches. All methods may be used. All salmonid species can be encountered here.

Adjacent to the Salmon Ponds:

Due to flood damage the disabled platforms at the Salmon Ponds have been removed. There is no longer disabled access to the Plenty River.
