Background

This is a long narrow Hydro Tasmania storage, formed by the damming of the Pieman River with the Reece Dam, it is over 25 km long but no wider than 400 m. The Reece Dam is accessed by the B 246 (from the south out of Zeehan) or B 252 (from the north out of Rosebery). There is a boat ramp just above the Dam wall on the southern side. The fishery is open to all methods and boating is preferred due to steep banks and vegetation.
