Maintaining good water quality in Lake Crescent

Carp Team members recently made some adjustments to outflow screens at Lake Sorell to enable an increase in the transfer of water into Lake Crescent.  With the increase in angler activity and catches in Lake Crescent this season, IFS has been endeavoring to keep Lake Crescent as high as possible for anglers as well as managing releases for downstream needs.

With lake levels declining as a result of evaporative loss and releases from the system, it is expected that periodic adjustments will need to be made to the Lake Sorell outlet screens.  Also of interest to anglers will be the news that water quality (turbidity) is continuing to improve with recent sampling showing the best results since the late 1990’s.
