Last Sunday (13 September 2015) the Devonport Angling Club held a Junior Angling Day.  The beautiful weather and plenty of fish made for a fantastic family event. A total of 64 rainbow trout and Atlantic salmon were caught by very happy junior anglers throughout the day with the largest fish being a whopping 3.48 kg salmon.

Attending were Inland Fisheries Officers Paul Middleton and Brett Mawbey who were on hand to offer advice and tips.

Congratulations to the Devonport Angling Club, who continue to donate their time and efforts to run this outstanding community event.

If you missed last Sunday there are still several more junior angling days to be held at Taylors Dam which is opposite Anvers Chocolate Factory.  Make sure you put these in your diary

2015: 11 October, 8 November, 13 December

2016: 10 January, 14 February, 13 March 13 and 10 April.

If you would like to attend and have not been before contact Peter Maloney who is the President of Devonport Angling Club on 0419 871 131 for further details. Otherwise, arrive at the dam just before 10am on any of the listed dates for some family fishing fun!
