Have you ever wanted to try fly fishing, but not known where to start?

The North West Fly Fishing Club is holding a learn to fly fish day at Pet Dam on Sunday 22nd October 2023. This fishing licence free event will run from 10am until 4pm and will be held on the eastern side of the dam, accessible from the gate off Circular Road (just around the corner from the TasWater facility).

There will be casting demonstrations and tuition available from experienced fly fishers, along with education on fishing gear, flies, fish filleting and trout. All gear will be provided for use on the day, but if you would like to bring your own gear for assessment the instructors will be happy to take a look and provide advice.

A barbeque lunch and soft drinks will be available for purchase on the day, along with a raffle.
