A Full Season licence runs for 12 months from 1st August to 31 July each year. Short Term licences are also available for periods of 28 days, 7 days and 48 hours.

Angling Licence Fees
Inland Recreational Fishing Licence fees are updated annually and you can follow this link to view the current angling licence fees .
An Annual Licence Renewal notice is sent to all current full season licence holders before the start of the new angling licence period which begins in August. The Renewal form includes a licence card containing the licence holder's details and the Payment number for processing the renewal. You will require these details to renew online or at any authorised licence selling agent.
If you held a full season licence in the previous season and did not receive a renewal form by mid July this season, please contact the Service so that licence holder details can be updated.
Seniors and Pensioners must provide Senior and Pensioner Card Numbers to obtain a discount. A second rod licence may be purchased at the time of buying (or renewing) a standard licence or separately at a later date.
Licences can also be purchased or renewed at all Service Tasmania shops and authorised .
There are over 100 Licence agents throughout the State. Licence agents are located in fishing tackle and sports stores, as well as on the Spirit of Tasmania ferries. This list is updated periodically and while every effort is made to keep the list current there may be times when an outlet appears on the list but they have withdrawn as a licence selling agent.
It is a condition of the angling licence, that the licence holder comply with the Inland Fisheries Act 1995 and subsequent regulations and orders. This legislation can be viewed in full on-line at www.thelaw.tas.gov.au . A summary of this legislation, as it applies to seasonal regulations, is provided in the current Tasmanian Inland Fishing Code.
