Recent Stocking Bonanza by the IFS

Water levels and river flows increased dramatically at many locations around the State during Winter and Spring but now, the IFS is capitalizing on this natural event and the excess supply of fish stock, and is boosting fish populations at selected waters. Surplus brood and production stock from Springfield and Sevrup Fisheries, and also from the University of Tasmania’s School of Aquaculture in Launceston as well as wild trout fry from the Service’s own hatchery at New Norfolk, have been stocked into Lake Dulverton, Tooms Lake, Four Springs Lake, Craigbourne Dam, Lake Barrington, Brushy Lagoon and Bradys Lake over this week and last.
