New Kids' Trout Pond at Liawenee

Inland Fisheries has just completed the construction of a second juniors' fishout pond at Liawenee, in preparation for the IFS Trout Weekend, 22-23 May.

The first kids fishout pond has been a huge sucess at the last two open weekends, an event held annually at Liawnee each May. The pond has been so popular, in fact, that eager children and parents have lined up patiently for a considerable time, often in freezing cold conditions, just waiting for a chance to catch a fish.

The additional pond will double the available space to fish, increasing the number of kids able to fish at any one time. Hopefully this will decrease waiting time and more happy kids will return home from Liawenee this year.
