Hydro works on Tungatinah power tunnel

Work will commence at the intake to the power tunnel at Tungatinah Lagoon on November 17. Proir to the commencement of works there will be a drawdown of Bronte Lagoon to 2 metres below full supply and Lake Binney, Tungatinah Lagoon and Bradys Lake to 4 metres below full supply. The Tungatinah Power Station will be shutdown till the December 21. During the shutdown period there will be a possibility of spill for these waters. Those using the Lyell Highway should note that speed limit changes will occur in the area adjacent to the Tungatinah intake area from 100 km/h to 50 km/h.
