IFS and MAST have been working together to improve and extend the operating range of the four designated concrete boat ramps at Great Lake. This has been funded through Boat Licence fees from MAST with in kind support and project management from IFS.
The work at Cramps Bay, Swan Bay and Brandum Bay involves 25 linear metres of concrete which will be added to the top end of the boat ramps. This will effectively secure the use of these ramps through approximately 90% of Great Lake's anticipated operating range (-7m below FSL and -17 m below FSL) and will accommodate potential increases in the lake level during the 2011 winter. The concrete section of the Tods Corner ramp is currently completely inundated so the concrete extention will be undertaken when possible.
All ramps will benefit from works to improve drainage, parking and approaches. Signage similar to that installed at Swan Bay last year directing parking will be installed at the other three ramps.
