Brown Trout Season Ends Sunday 2 May
The majority of inland waters, which are based on the brown trout season, close to fishing from Monday 3 May until they reopen in the 2010-11 season on Saturday 7 August. However, there are still plenty of waters open for longer including all rainbow trout waters, lakes Mackintosh and Rosebery, and a number of waters that are open all year round.

However, the season’s fishing is not over with Lakes Mackintosh and Rosebery, and all rainbow trout waters remaining open until 30 May. There is also a number of good fishing waters located around the State which are kept open for fishing all year round.
The rainbow waters include Dee Lagoon, Lake Rowallan, Lake Skinner, Lake Meston, Lake Youd, Junction Lake, Lagoon of Islands, Mersey River above Lake Rowallan, a section of the River Leven (between grid reference E416578 N5423533 and E416218 N5416099) and the Weld River in the North and the Weld River in the South of the State.
The waters which will remain open all year are the River Tamar downstream of the South Esk and North Esk road bridges, River Derwent below Bridgewater Bridge, River Leven below Allison Bridge at Golf Club Rd, and Huon River below Huonville Bridge, as well as the still fisheries of Meadowbank Lake, lakes Pedder, Gordon, Burbury and Barrington, Great Lake (excluding Canal Bay), Craigbourne Dam and Brushy Lagoon.
