Broad River campground cleanup
In response to reports of accumulated rubbish at this popular boat launching and camping area on the western side of Cluny Lagoon the IFS and Central Highlands Council conducted a cleanup of the area. Much of the rubbish had accumulated over a number of years and was contributing to making this once beautiful lakeside area into something resembling a rubbish dump. The council and IFS staff removed approximately two tonnes of domestic and associated waste from the area. It is hoped that future visitors will respect the effort that has gone into cleaning up this popular spot and help to maintain it by taking there rubbish home with them. Campers should be aware there are no toilet facilities and they should take a chemical or portable toilet. Anglers are reminded that at all fisheries they should take thier rubbish with them when they leave.
