The Service is compiling a Waters Index, to provide detailed information on individual waters, including an account of facilities such as camp grounds and boat ramps, as well as access issues. The Index enables you to search by water name, location, fish species present and preferred fishing method. The aim is to provide you with a quick reference to figure out where to go, when to go and what to take with you.
The Regulations Chart provides a summary of the season dates, fishing methods, fish species, and catch size and bag limits for over 100 individual waters.
You can check the weather in the Highlands before setting off by visiting the live webcam at Arthurs Lake (coming soon) or the Bureau of Meteorology weather forecast using the following link http://www.bom.gov.au/weather/tas/tas-forecast-map.shtml.
You may also wish to check the Fishing Events Calendar and Hydro Tasmania’s lake levels.
