Fishcare Volunteers

Fishcare Tasmania is a program that educates the community about sustainable recreational fishing practices. The program is operated by the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment (DPIPWE)  Wild Fisheries Management Branch with primary funding from Fishwise funds (from sea fishing licence fees).  IFS periodically grant funds for Fishcare to assist in certain inland water activities, most notably is the annual trout weekend at Liawenee.

Fishcare volunteers are enthusiastic individuals who give up their time in order to help members of the recreational fishing community with good fishing practices and provide advice about fisheries rules.

For further information contact the DPIPWE Fishcare Program Coordinator on 03 6777 2082.
